The CSIRO Book 2025–26

The CSIRO Book We work with industry, government and the research community to turn science into solutions across six research areas: Energy and Minerals, Food and Fibre, From Wonder to Discovery, Nature, One Health and Tech Economy. We also steward research infrastructure on behalf of the nation and provide an important connecting role between science and society. You can read more about CSIRO in the first edition of The CSIRO Book. It has been written by the scientists and experts of CSIRO, describing the full range of our research portfolio, including how we approach our work, our collaborators and the reasons our research matters for Australia. This is the first attempt to consolidate the breadth of our work at CSIRO and the book will evolve over time. One of the purposes of sharing the book broadly is to invite your feedback and questions.

Robot Academy – Queensland University of Technology (QUT)

Robot Academy is a free and open online learning platform developed by Professor Peter Corke of the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Designed to support university-level robotics education, the platform features over one hundred concise video lessons that cover a wide range of topics, including kinematics, dynamics, geometry, vision, and control. Learners can explore fundamental and advanced concepts such as robotic arms, forward and inverse kinematics, motion planning, 3D spatial mathematics, trajectory control, and rigid body dynamics. The academy also offers in-depth lessons on robotic vision, including camera models, visual servoing, and object detection. The content is structured to support learners from beginner to advanced levels and is particularly focused on teaching the mathematical models and technical foundations behind real-world robotics systems. Robot Academy is supported by QUT and the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and it is currently used by more than 200 institutions worldwide. Its concise, visual, and technically rigorous approach makes it a valuable resource for students, educators, and professionals in the robotics field. The full platform can be accessed at https://lnkd.in/e6UZvttf. EkkoSense: Accelerate your time to AI compute benefits

Accelerate your time to AI compute benefits We're all talking about Gen AI deployments, but how ready are we really? To get exclusive content on the latest guidance on AI compute deployments with EkkoSense. It’s a journey that organisations have either made, are making, or are about to make. There’s a real sense of FOMO - everyone’s looking over their shoulders and trying to find out just how far they’ve progressed compared to everyone else. And there’s also a fierce fight for available resources – it’s increasingly an AI goldrush as organisations look to secure their supply of AI compute resources – and the developers needed to build and train their AI applications. In this eBook Dr Stuart Redshaw, CTIO & Co-Founder, EkkoSense, looks at how this major AI reset is impacting the data centre sector. And then outlines some ways that operations teams can derisk the deployment of AI functionality within their existing facilities.
