Our network member, Jevons Robotics has officially launched the ARTEV1000, a rugged terrain automated electric vehicle designed to bring the safety and productivity benefits of its larger counterpart, the ARTEV6000, to smaller mining operations.
Building on the global success of the ARTEV6000—recognised for achieving milestones in autonomous stemming and explosives loading throughout 2024 and 2025—the ARTEV1000 is tailored for sites where blasting bench constraints make conventional vehicles impractical. In such environments, operators are often forced to revert to manual handling, significantly raising safety risks.
“ARTEV1000 is not merely a smaller addition to our product line; it symbolises our dedication to addressing today’s mining challenges with innovative solutions,” said Todd Peate, CEO of Jevons Robotics. “Now is the time for the industry to embrace new technology and leverage efficiencies that reduce exposure hours while enhancing productivity across explosives QA/QC, loading, stemming, geophysical deployments, and monitoring activities.”
The ARTEV1000 integrates several core technologies from the 6000 series, automating high-risk blast hole tasks such as hole dipping, stemming, and hose handling in small-diameter patterns. By removing the need for direct operator involvement, the system reduces exposure to dust, gas, and hazardous high-wall environments.
“This is more than just automation; it represents a pathway to zero-harm operations, showing that productivity and safety can coexist,” Peate added.
Orica, a global leader in mining and blasting solutions, has become one of the first to adopt the ARTEV1000. Ricky Butler, Vice President Australia Pacific Metals, Orica, said at the launch:

Both the ARTEV1000 and ARTEV6000 are now commercially available from Jevons Robotics.
