Manufacturing Catalyst, our network member, will participate in the webinar “From Hype to Implementation — Getting AI-Ready in Manufacturing” on Tuesday, 2 December 2025. One of the speakers is Dr Michael Lucas, Founder and Principal Manufacturing Advisor at Manufacturing Catalyst. Dr Lucas is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Australia with three decades of experience applying robotics and automation to manufacturing and intralogistics across multiple industries and continents. He has played pivotal roles in landmark projects, including designing and implementing Tesla’s gigafactories and optimising their global supply chain.

AI is no longer just a buzzword in manufacturing. It is driving efficiency, reducing downtime, and enabling smarter decision-making. As AI moves from concept to reality, the key question for organisations becomes whether they are ready to implement it.

In this webinar, Manufacturing Catalyst will explore why now is the time to assess readiness and ensure the right foundations are in place for successful AI implementation. An engaging panel of guest speakers will share expertise to demystify AI and clarify the key objectives organisations should focus on as they prepare for the journey ahead.

What attendees will gain:

  • A solid understanding of how AI tools are applied in manufacturing and where they create the most impact and value across operations.
  • Practical insights on how to prepare current infrastructure for smooth AI integration, enabling organisations to move quickly when opportunities arise.

The session features a powerhouse panel of leaders from manufacturing and technology who will share real-world experience to help manufacturers navigate the path from AI hype to tangible operational impact.
