In partnership with TÜV NORD, Pilz offers the internationally recognised CMSE – Certified Machinery Safety Expert qualification.
This four-day course provides a comprehensive overview of machinery safety across its entire lifecycle, divided into five globally standardised modules.

Course Overview

  • Module 1: Introduction to safety regulations, roles, and safety management systems
  • Module 2: Machinery safety legislation, conformity, and workplace considerations
  • Module 3: Risk assessment under ISO 12100 and practical application
  • Module 4: Mechanical safeguards and safety distance calculations (ISO 13857)
  • Module 5: Functional safety of control systems (ISO 13849), PL and SIL determination

Who Should Attend

Ideal for mechanical designers, control engineers, system integrators, machine builders, and plant operators involved in machinery safety and automation.

Certification

Participants who pass the final exam receive the TÜV NORD CMSE Certificate, valid internationally for four years. A one-day recertification extends validity for another four years.
