Automation of autonomous haulage vehicles

Baraja partnered with Hitachi Construction Machinery to provide our LIDAR sensor for their 500-ton trucks, used at a site in Queensland. With their previous LIDAR sensor, they struggled to see far enough for the stopping distance of this enormous truck. However, with our Baraja LIDAR, the performance is so high that they can see much further in the distance.

This can go a long way to automating this vehicle, which is a dangerous hazard. Additionally, the intension would be also to map routes that cause fewer damage incidents on these vehicles, which is a large savings in the costs associated with downtime.
